Cast Iron Stonk Box
MK1 germanium fuzz with Automatic Thermal Bias in hand-forged cast iron enclosure.
Benson Amps was founded in 2012 by Chris Benson in Portland, Oregon, after his years as a repair tech at Verellen Amps and Old Town Music. Known for handwired, roadworthy amplifiers, Benson expanded into pedals that capture the same ethos: player-friendly designs built for working musicians.
The Cast Iron Stonk Box is a limited collaboration with KGR Harmony, housing Benson's MK1 germanium fuzz circuit in a hand-forged cast iron enclosure. Using matched 2N404 and 2N527 germanium transistors with Automatic Thermal Bias technology, it delivers thick, woolly fuzz with vintage sensitivity and modern reliability.
Unlike temperamental vintage fuzzes, it plays nicely with buffers and can sit anywhere in your signal chain. The thermal bias circuit eliminates drift and maintains consistent performance across varying temperatures.
The cast iron housing isn't just aesthetic—it provides exceptional shielding and thermal mass, making this the most stable and noise-resistant version of the Stonk Box available.
