MK1 germanium fuzz with Automatic Thermal Bias, buffer-friendly and temperature-stable.
Benson Amps was founded in 2012 by Chris Benson in Portland, Oregon, after his years as a repair tech at Verellen Amps and Old Town Music. Known for handwired, roadworthy amplifiers, Benson expanded into pedals that capture the same ethos: player-friendly designs built for working musicians.
The Stonk Box applies Benson's Automatic Thermal Bias technology to the MK1 fuzz topology. Using matched 2N404 and 2N527 germanium transistors, it delivers thick, woolly fuzz tones with the dynamic sensitivity that made vintage units legendary.
Unlike temperamental vintage fuzzes, the Stonk Box plays nicely with buffers and can sit anywhere in your signal chain. The thermal bias circuit eliminates drift and maintains consistent performance across varying temperatures—a genuine solution to the reliability issues that have plagued germanium fuzzes for decades.
After a brief 2-3 minute warm-up, the Stonk Box delivers predictable, repeatable germanium fuzz that works on tour, in the studio, or at home.
