Skronk Machine
Zonk Machine fuzz with Soviet MP38A germanium transistors, passive tone filter, and relay bypass.
BLAMMO! Electronics is run by Dan Adamson, an IPC-certified builder in Portland, Oregon. Before making pedals, he worked in medical, aviation, and defense PCB assemblies.
The Skronk Machine modernizes the 1965-66 John Hornby Skewes Zonk Machine—the fuzz that bridged the Maestro FZ-1 and Tone Bender. It uses Soviet MP38A flying saucer germanium transistors in NPN configuration, allowing standard center-negative 9V power.
The passive tone control cuts high-frequency harshness: fully right is stock Zonk voicing, counterclockwise moves into Tone Bender MKI territory. No-click relay bypass works as momentary (hold) or latching (tap).
Brighter than a Tone Bender MKI with more sustain and bite than an FZ-1. Known for its spitting, slightly gated character.
