The Goodbye Kitty
Shin-Ei Companion fuzz with modified Big Muff tone stack and output gain stage.
BLAMMO! Electronics is run by Dan Adamson, an IPC-certified builder in Portland, Oregon who previously worked in medical, aviation, and defense PCB assemblies.
The Goodbye Kitty recreates the Shin-Ei Companion fuzz—known for big, blown-out tones—with practical updates. A modified Big Muff tone control boosts lows OR highs (not both simultaneously like standard BMP stacks) for more usable range.
A clean gain stage compensates for tone control volume loss and solves the low output problem some original Companions suffered from. Relay-based true bypass, top-mounted jacks, and slimmed enclosure.
The Companion circuit dates to the 1960s Japanese fuzz era.
