Uberschall
"Armageddon in a Box." The brutal Uberschall amp as a pedal. Tuned diode clipping for extreme gain.
The Uberschall amplifier earned its reputation as one of the most aggressive high-gain heads ever built. Nu-metal, modern metal, anything requiring face-melting saturation. Bogner called the pedal version "Armageddon in a Box," and it delivers.
Unlike the Ecstasy pedals with their no-diode-clipping purity, the Uberschall uses a tuned diode distortion circuit designed for extreme gain. This pushes into territory the Ecstasy won't go. The Mid control works like a Presence knob: scooped below noon, flat at noon, boosted above for cutting through dense mixes.
Volume, Gain, Treble, Mid, and Bass controls. A boost switch adds volume without extra gain for leads. Five discrete Class-A gain stages maintain the Bogner touch sensitivity even at maximum saturation. Premium components throughout: WIMA and Nichicon capacitors, gold-plated boards, Carling switches.
The Uberschall amp costs thousands and weighs a ton. This pedal captures its savage character for a fraction of the weight and price.
