AC-2 Acoustic Simulator
Original 1997 acoustic simulator with four body types for electric-to-acoustic.
The AC-2 Acoustic Simulator transforms electric guitar into acoustic guitar tones using multiple body simulation algorithms. Released in 1997, it provides a quick way to get acoustic-style sounds without switching instruments.
Four body types simulate different acoustic guitar characters: Standard, Jumbo, Enhanced, and Piezo. Each mode applies different resonance and frequency shaping to make an electric guitar signal sound more like an acoustic. The effect works best with clean electric guitar signals.
Body, Top, Level controls. At modest current draw, it's power-efficient. The Body and Top controls shape the resonance character and brightness of the simulated acoustic sound.
For electric players who occasionally need acoustic-style tones without carrying a second guitar. The simulation is an approximation rather than a perfect recreation, but it's convincing enough for live situations where switching guitars isn't practical.
