Formula 5F6 (Foundation)
Fender 5F6-A Tweed Bassman emulation in Foundation Celebration artwork with three-band EQ.
The Catalinbread Formula 5F6 Foundation features the same 5F6-A Tweed Bassman circuit as the standard Formula 5F6, dressed in Foundation Celebration artwork. The Bassman's tone stack is reproduced part-for-part with Treble, Middle, and Bass controls, plus an internal voicing switch between Stock Bassman and Secret Lead modes.
The 5F6-A Bassman defined an era. Jim Marshall studied it to create the JTM45, making it the grandfather of British amplification. Buddy Holly played through one, Stevie Ray Vaughan swore by them, and their influence runs through virtually every rock amp made since 1959.
Full three-band EQ, internal presence trimpot, and the widest tonal range in the Formula series. Runs on 9-18V DC.
