Soft Focus Deluxe

The Catalinbread Soft Focus Deluxe doubles the size and capability of the original Soft Focus. Six programs replace the single algorithm: the original Soft Focus patch, infinite reverb, an additional chorus voice with different modulation speed range, increased octave-up shimmer mix, octave-up delay feeding a harmonically richer Soft Focus engine, and expression-controlled input volume.

The biggest additions are delay (the most-requested feature from the original) and a footswitchable op-amp distortion with its own level control and series/parallel toggle. Two footswitches control effect bypass and distortion independently. An expression/tap tempo jack adds real-time control.

Controls: Program selector, Mix, Mod, Verb, Delay, Time, Distortion Level, plus the series/parallel mini-toggle. The Deluxe takes the original's 'instant shoegaze button' concept and turns it into a complete ambient workstation. Double-wide enclosure.
