The Planetary Phase employs VCA (voltage-controlled amplifier) technology for phase shifting, a less common but highly effective approach that offers exceptional signal-to-noise ratio compared to traditional JFET or OTA designs. The result is pristine, noise-free modulation.

VCA-based phasers modulate all-pass filters directly with an LFO, creating smooth, musical phase shifting without the noise floor issues that can plague other designs. The Planetary Phase leverages this technology for studio-quality modulation on stage.
