Tweedy Overdrive
Overdrive emulating a 1950s Fender 5B3 Deluxe with octal 6SC7 preamp character.
DanDrive is a boutique pedal company based in Bremen, Germany, run by Daniel Querner. Each pedal is meticulously hand-wired using carefully sourced new and NOS components, with modern features like mains-power compatibility and top-mounted jacks.
The Tweedy is an overdrive designed to impart the sonic characteristics of an early 50s Fender 5B3 Deluxe amplifier. The original amp's octal 6SC7 preamp valves differ tonally from the ubiquitous 12AX7, imparting a subtly richer midrange with less top-end bite.
While it's not the smooth flattering overdrive of a Tube Screamer, the Tweedy delivers organic, gritty breakup tones that are far more realistically amp-like. Controls include Level, Drive, and Tone. Features true bypass switching and lacquered tweed cloth covering. Dimensions: 121 x 64 x 55mm. Runs on 9V battery or DC power.
