The Microtubes X7 combines the aggressive X-series distortion with a four-band EQ and balanced XLR direct output, paralleling the B7K's feature set but with the X-series voicing. This makes it a complete preamp for heavier styles.

The X-series is more high-frequency heavy compared to the more mid-focused B-series. The EQ and DI capabilities make it studio and stage ready. Ideal for metal and aggressive bass tones.
