Hellbender
Tonebender MKII clone with germanium transistors and Mood voltage-starve control.
Deep Trip Pedals, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, creates premium fuzz pedals built with high-quality components. They won Guitar Player's Editor's Pick and Tone Report's Top Tone awards.
The Hellbender is modeled after the legendary Coloursound MKII Tonebender made famous by Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Jeff Beck. It uses three germanium transistors in the fuzz section plus two silicon transistors for other functions.
Controls: Vol, Mood, and Fuzz, plus Mode and Voice toggles. The Mood knob controls voltage to the pedal - counter-clockwise yields sputtering lo-fi dying-battery sounds, clockwise sharpens attack for articulate palm-muting. Voice toggle selects treble-boost, bass-boost, or classic fuzz. Unlike vintage Tonebenders, it works with 9V DC power, doesn't fight buffers, and adapts to any amp. Components include Switchcraft USA connectors, WIMA capacitors, Vishay-DALE resistors.
