Slowly Melting
Lo-fi fuzz/delay/chorus/doubletracker that pushes PT2399 delay chips to their breaking point.
The Slowly Melting is Dirge Electronics' flagship pedal, a wild lo-fi creation that takes a PT2399 delay chip and stretches it far beyond its intended means. The result is harsh, unpredictable, and gloriously gnarly sounds that combine fuzz, starved circuits, and modulation into one heavy-handed tool of sonic disintegration.
The pedal features six controls: Loudness (very loud output), Starve (reduces power to the delay chip for extra glitch), Melt (feedback when melt footswitch engaged), Length (delay time from doubletracking to long stretched delays), Warble (modulation amount), and Blend (balance between fuzz only or fuzz with delay line). The Melt function allows the pedal to cannibalize itself by feeding its signal back into its circuit.
Used by artists like Yvette Young of Covet, the Slowly Melting is available in special editions including 'Taste the Rainbow' with stunning hand-painted finishes. A 'Double Melt' version combines two Slowly Melting circuits in one unit. The tone has been compared to a Big Muff with the fuzz blend turned up.
