Triple Threat
Jack White collaboration: 3-in-1 analog distortion, phaser, and delay in one enclosure.
Third Man Hardware is Jack White's record label Third Man Records hardware division, collaborating with budget pedal maker Donner to create the Triple Threat. This pedal packs three analog effects into a single road-worthy chassis at an affordable price point.
The signal chain runs distortion to phaser to echo in fixed order. The distortion offers DS-1-style gain with wide-ranging tone control. The phaser is based on the Donner Pearl Tremor with MXR Phase 90-style character. The echo derives from the popular Yellow Fall delay, tuned to Jack White specifications with up to 600ms of warm, tape-style repeats.
Each effect has dedicated three-knob controls and its own metal footswitch. The aluminum chassis and all-metal switches ensure gigging reliability. At 100mA current draw with buffered bypass, it is designed for real-world pedalboard use.
