Distortion
Modded '78 MIJ DS-1 with 8 clipping modes, dual op-amps, and a Big Muff gain stage toggle.
Drunk Beaver is a Polish pedal company founded by Ukrainian builder Vitalii Bobrov, specializing in hot-rodded versions of classic circuits.
The Distortion takes a 1978 MIJ Boss DS-1 circuit and supercharges it. Eight clipping modes span the entire dirt spectrum: boost (no diodes), LEDs, '78 vintage silicon, '94 1N914, asymmetric NOS Soviet D9 germanium, asymmetric 1N914, BS170 MOSFETs, and 1N4001 diodes. An op-amp toggle selects modern TI RC4580 or vintage NOS MIJ chips, while a Muff toggle engages a Big Muff-style transistor gain stage for compressed, fat tones.
Level, Dist, and Tone controls work alongside a 3-position Mids switch (stock DS-1 scoop, less scooped, or flat mids). True bypass. Draws 30mA from 9V DC center-negative power.
