Fuzz Master General

EarthQuaker Devices based the Fuzz Master General on the rare Shin-ei Companion FY-2. That Japanese fuzz produced distinctive octave-up harmonics that American fuzzes don't replicate.

The circuit generates upper octave content that becomes more prominent as you dig in. Works best with neck pickup and notes above the 12th fret for pronounced ring-mod-like octave effects. Lower notes produce thick, aggressive fuzz.

Volume, Attack (gain), and Tone controls. True bypass via relay switching. The Legacy Reissue brought back the original circuit after discontinuation.
