EarthQuaker Devices rebuilt the Tube Screamer circuit with JFET op-amps and raised input impedance to nearly 10 megaohms. The result is the Plumes, their take on the 808-style overdrive.

Three clipping modes: LED (crunchiest, British valve amp character), None (clean boost to op-amp drive), and Silicon (classic TS-style warmth). Internal voltage conversion to plus/minus 9V provides extra headroom.

Level, Gain, and Tone controls. FlexiSwitch allows momentary or latching operation. $99 price point made it one of EQD's most popular pedals.
