Tone Reaper

EarthQuaker Devices based the Tone Reaper on the rare Shin-ei Companion fuzz circuit. Upper octave harmonics emerge when playing high on the neck. Attack (gain), Volume, and Tone controls shape the fuzz character. The circuit produces octave-up harmonics most pronounced with neck pickup above the 12th fret. Lower notes deliver thick fuzz without obvious octave. Now discontinued, but the circuit lives on in the Hoof Reaper combination pedal. True bypass via relay switching.
