Overdrive
Overdrive emulating the sound of overdriven tube amps. CMOS-based tube simulation in a stompbox.
Electro-Harmonix designed Hot Tubes to emulate the sound of a cranked tube amplifier. Solid-state circuit that captures tube breakup character.
Gain ranges from edge-of-breakup to saturated overdrive. The circuit mimics the compression and harmonic content of overdriven tubes without actual tubes.
Simple two-knob operation. The Hot Tubes has been in production since the early days of EHX. A classic circuit that influenced many later designs.
Tube amp overdrive character without the tubes.
