Electro-Harmonix introduced the LPB-1 as one of the first guitar pedals ever made. Mike Matthews designed it in the late 1960s.

Single Volume control adds up to 25dB of clean boost. The circuit is a simple transistor gain stage that pushes amps into natural overdrive or adds level for solos.
