Model One
Montreal builder's debut overdrive with amp-like dynamics. Mode switch goes from natural breakup to fuzzstortion.
Fish Circuits is a Montreal-based company founded by Mike Poisson. The Model One is his debut pedal, featuring an original circuit in a vintage-style trapezoidal enclosure.
At lower gain settings, the Model One delivers dynamic amp-like breakup reminiscent of Orange amplifiers. Crank it and you enter saturated fuzzstortion territory with loads of sustain and depth.
The Mode switch selects between "n" mode (classic lower gain with more volume) and "b" mode (saggier, almost fuzz-like). A three-position Body switch controls low frequencies, from fat full sound to tight mix-friendly response. Internal dip switch adds bass for the "b" mode.
Runs on 9V DC center-negative. True bypass. $249.
