Jam Pedals, the Greek boutique maker founded in 2005, built their reputation on meticulous component selection and hand-painted artwork. The Fuzz Phrase Ltd represents their pinnacle of germanium fuzz design, using components most builders can only dream of sourcing.

The secret sauce: CV7003 military-spec OC44 germanium transistors, far more consistent and heat-resistant than the AC128 or NKT275 transistors found in most germanium fuzzes. This means the Fuzz Phrase Ltd stays in tune with itself regardless of stage temperature—solving the classic germanium reliability problem. The circuit runs positive ground, staying true to vintage topology.

Level controls output volume, Gain sets the fuzz intensity. An internal trimmer adjusts transistor bias, though Jam recommends leaving it factory-set. The positive ground design means you'll need isolated power—no daisy-chaining with standard pedals.
