Retrovibe
True photocell Uni-Vibe with NOS transistors and real bulb. The vintage spec sheet brought to life.
Jam Pedals built the Retrovibe around the same components as the original 1968 Uni-Vibe: four photocells, a real incandescent bulb, NOS 2SC828 transistors, and carbon-comp resistors. The internal voltage lifts to 15V to match the original circuit's operating parameters.
The result is that unmistakable throb Hendrix made famous—Leslie-like rotation, liquid phase shifting, and organic pulsing that solid-state recreations can only approximate. An internal trimmer adjusts maximum intensity while preserving the vintage essence.
Toggle switch selects between Vibrato (pitch modulation) and Chorus (mix of wet and dry). Intensity and Speed dials cover everything from slow, watery swells to fast Leslie simulation. Works with any passive 10k expression pedal via standard TRS cable for real-time speed control.
