3 Series Overdrive
Josh Scott's answer to budget overdrives. Transparent to crunchy with a gain toggle.
JHS built the 3 Series in 2020 when Josh Scott asked a simple question: could he make sub-$100 pedals without compromising Kansas City build quality? The Overdrive kicked off the line with a straightforward mission—classic overdrive sounds without the feature bloat that pushed pedals past budget territory.
The circuit runs from transparent boost to medium-gain crunch. Volume, Body, and Drive knobs handle the basics, while the gain toggle switches between compressed saturation and open, dynamic crunch. The Body control shapes EQ to match your amp's voice. At 12mA draw, it barely sips power.
The 3 Series proved boutique builders could compete in the budget market without outsourcing overseas. Same jacks, same switches, same Kansas City assembly as their $200 pedals. Just fewer knobs.
