Astro Mess Fuzz

JHS collaborated with Switchfoot guitarist Drew Shirley to build the Astro Mess, a silicon fuzz that tips its hat to classic circuits like the Ampeg Scrambler, Kay Fuzztone, and Octavia while adding modern functionality. The pedal delivers gritty, snotty, unapologetically loud fuzz with massive gain and volume reserves.

The center gate toggle transforms the character—engaging it adds sucking, pumping action to your pick attack before unleashing violent sustain. Volume and Fuzz knobs keep it simple and direct. The circuit blends vintage warmth with modern aggression, offering both smooth and destructive fuzz textures depending on your settings.

Standard 9V center negative power, less than 100mA draw. Measures 2.2" × 4.3" × 1.5". True bypass. A unique silicon fuzz that bridges eras without trying to be polite about it.
