Cheese Ball
Rare 1990s English distortion-fuzz replica. Four-mode tone selector. Edge, Page, Shields approved.
JHS built the Cheese Ball to recreate a legendary 1990s English pedal that became impossible to find and expensive to own. The original circuit captured the attention of The Edge, Jimmy Page, and Kevin Shields—artists who demanded character beyond standard distortion boxes. JHS made it accessible again.
The four-position mode selector shapes everything: Off position delivers bright, trashy fuzz-distortion. Mode 1 provides Big Muff-style buzz with scooped mids and rounded response. Mode 2 adds mid-boost designed to cut through dense band mixes. Mode 3 engages biting, gated fuzz with spit and aggression. The Tone knob disengages entirely in Off position.
Volume, Gain, and Tone provide core control alongside the mode selector. The circuit spans vintage fuzz textures through modern distortion aggression. At 9mA draw, it's remarkably efficient. $179 for tones that cost thousands on the vintage market.
