Fuzz Lab
Based on ultra-rare Devi Ever Megagazer/Shoegazer circuit using metal can transistors in various configurations, discontinued limited series from Alec Breslow's early Pittsburgh workshop experiments.
Fuzz Lab represents an early experimental series from Mask Audio Electronics based on the ultra-rare Devi Ever Megagazer circuit, itself an expanded 4-knob version of the classic Shoegazer fuzz with chaos toggles for each side. Alec Breslow explored metal can transistor layouts in various configurations, creating limited runs that varied by production batch. The Megagazer/Shoegazer family delivers extreme, gated, sputtery fuzz tones that border on ring modulation and oscillation when pushed to chaos settings.
Specific controls and transistor configurations varied across Fuzz Lab production runs, making each batch unique. The metal can transistor choice provides vintage aesthetic and tonal characteristics distinct from modern plastic-encased components. Standard 9V center-negative power. The Fuzz Lab series appears discontinued, with later MAE releases focusing on more refined production pedals. Appeals to collectors seeking early Mask Audio work and players wanting Devi Ever-inspired extreme fuzz textures.
