The OD808 is the original Tube Screamer. Maxon designed and manufactured the circuit that Ibanez sold as the TS-808, creating one of the most influential overdrive pedals in history.
When Ibanez stopped producing the original TS-808 in 1984, Maxon continued making the exact same circuit under their own name. Same JRC4558D chip, same mid-hump character, same legendary tone.
Three knobs: Drive, Tone, and Level. The JRC4558D dual op-amp provides that specific soft clipping and midrange boost that helped define blues-rock guitar from SRV to John Mayer.
