Ambience

The Ambience is an echoverb—two syncopated, independently modulated delay lines cascading into a deep reverb chaser. The effect is layered and haunting: echoes interact with each other before dissolving into reverberant space, creating textures that sit somewhere between delay and reverb without being quite either. Mr. Black collaborated with Portland band Soft Kill on a limited edition that helped resurrect the discontinued pedal by popular demand.

Three controls: Level (master blend—how haunted do you want it), Span (controls the syncopated dual delay timing and how the two echoes interact with each other), and Decay (echo regeneration and reverb depth combined). The dual-echo-into-reverb architecture gives it a distinctive voice that single-engine reverbs can't replicate.

True bypass. 9VDC center-negative (adapter or battery), <60mA. Input impedance ~470KΩ. Handmade in Portland, Oregon. Production discontinued.
