Classic 108 Fuzz
Silicon Fuzz Face circuit with BC108 transistors. Aggressive, cutting fuzz tones.
The Classic 108 Fuzz houses a Fuzz Face-style circuit in MXR's standard enclosure. The design uses BC108 silicon transistors, delivering the aggressive, cutting character that silicon Fuzz Faces are known for. Two controls: Fuzz sets saturation, Output controls volume. Silicon transistors provide more stable operation than germanium, without temperature sensitivity. The tone sits brighter and more aggressive than germanium variants. The Fuzz Face circuit dates to the 1960s, used famously by Jimi Hendrix. Silicon versions like the BC108 offer more gain and sustain with tighter low end than germanium. The MXR format makes it pedalboard-friendly. True bypass switching. Standard 9V power.
