Gate Keeper

The Gatekeeper uses optical circuitry for noise gate functions that track playing dynamics accurately. The optical approach provides faster response than typical gate designs. Threshold adjustment sets the level at which the gate opens.

High-gain setups benefit from the Gatekeeper silencing amplifier hiss during pauses. The gate opens quickly enough that picking attack remains natural. When set correctly, players forget the gate exists until they stop playing and notice the silence.

Pigtronix designed the Gatekeeper as a transparent utility pedal. The optical technology solves the common problem of gates that either cut off too slowly or chop attack transients.
