Reuss built the Purple Faze as a pure 1960s two-transistor Fuzz Face circuit.
Matched vintage NOS 1960s US OC140 NPN germanium transistors personally selected for high hfe and low leakage. NPN design works with standard negative-ground power.
2022 revision adds recovery gain stage for more output and output buffer for consistent signal. Warm, responsive, cleans up beautifully with volume knob.
