Mo(s)ghoul
Hybrid soft/hard-clipping MOSFET distortion with asymmetrical clipping and passive 3-band EQ.
The Mo(s)ghoul is a MOSFET distortion featuring a hybrid soft-and-hard-clipping topology with an asymmetrical clipping pattern. This design produces a distinctive twin-peaks frequency profile with emphasis around 250Hz and 1.6kHz and a natural mid-dip near 800Hz.
Five controls shape the sound: Drive ranges from crunchy overdrive to thick saturated fuzz, while a passive 3-band EQ (Low, Mid, High) sculpts the final tone after the gain stages, preserving the pedal's organic response. Level sets the output.
Cleans up beautifully when rolling back guitar volume. Loosely inspired by peak-era Weezer and Smashing Pumpkins tones. Original circuit handmade in Basel, Switzerland.
