Black Cat Moan
Wah with germanium-diode distortion. Three modes (Normal/Classic/Bass) plus switchable Moan.
Rocktron launched in 1983 when founder Bob Waller and Jim Chowning transitioned from performing in Detroit and Hollywood rock bands to building signal processing gear. After pioneering the HUSH noise reduction in 1984, Rocktron became known for innovative rack processors. Acquired by GHS Corporation in 2000.
The Black Cat Moan combines a three-mode wah (Normal, Classic, Bass voicings) with germanium-diode distortion called "Moan." The wah sweeps 400Hz (heel) to 2KHz (toe) with toe-activated on/off. Side kicker switch activates the Moan effect, which features Gain (mid-frequency harmonic boost) and Level controls. A combine switch lets you use Moan standalone or blended with the wah.
Power: 9V DC at 35mA. Rocker tension adjustable via allen wrench. Designed for both guitar and bass with dedicated voicing for each.
