The Selah Effects Scarlett Love V3 represents significant advancement in Scarlett Love lineage, adding modern features while maintaining transparent, amp-like overdrive character that made earlier versions so popular. Measuring 122 x 66 x 39.5mm and weighing 400g, V3 is slightly larger than V2 to accommodate its expanded feature set, including active 3-band EQ, MIDI functionality, and enhanced clipping options. This evolution transforms Scarlett Love from straightforward overdrive into comprehensive tone-shaping tool with deep integration capabilities for modern pedalboards.
Most significant addition in V3 is active 3-band EQ, which provides far more precise tonal control than single Tone knob of V2. This active EQ allows you to shape bass, midrange, and treble frequencies independently, enabling you to dial in everything from scooped modern tones to mid-focused vintage sounds. Combined with Gain and Volume controls, V3 offers studio-level tonal flexibility in stompbox format. Gain structure remains true to Scarlett Love philosophy: Gain knob blends overdrive into your clean signal, so at zero gain pedal functions as transparent clean boost with full EQ capabilities.
Clipping options have been updated in V3 to include Tube Screamer, Plexi, and Germanium modes. TS mode delivers classic mid-focused tube screamer tones, while Plexi mode provides open, amp-like breakup with enhanced harmonic content. New Germanium mode offers warm, vintage-style clipping with softer, more musical compression characteristics reminiscent of classic germanium transistor fuzzes and overdrives. This adds distinctly different flavor to Scarlett Love's palette, expanding its versatility for players seeking vintage-inspired tones.
V3's MIDI implementation sets it apart from most overdrive pedals. MIDI input allows for remote on/off switching via MIDI commands, enabling preset changes synchronized with other MIDI-capable pedals in your rig. Clipping mode can also be switched remotely via MIDI, and pedal can learn and respond to any Control Change or Program Change message, making integration with existing MIDI systems seamless. For players without MIDI controllers, diode settings can be switched manually by holding down footswitch for approximately one second, allowing on-the-fly tonal changes during performance. V3 maintains true bypass switching and provides ample headroom for clean boost applications.
