The Sonuus Voluum revolutionizes the traditional volume pedal concept by integrating a full suite of effects controlled by expression, creating what is essentially a volume-based analog multi-effect platform. This Scottish-designed pedal features a digitally controlled, high-fidelity pure-analog signal path running on constant high-voltage rails exceeding 30V for exceptional headroom with low distortion and noise - specifications typically found in professional studio equipment rather than guitar pedals.
The effects chain comprises five distinct processors: noise gate, compressor, LFO (tremolo), volume control, and limiter. What sets the Voluum apart is that these effects can be used in any combination and arranged in any order to suit your signal flow preferences. The noise gate features threshold control plus fine adjustment of attack/release times and reduction depth, providing ultra-transparent gating without audible artifacts or chopping. The compressor includes intelligent make-up gain, eliminating the need to constantly balance compression and output level - you simply dial in compression amount while the circuit automatically compensates for level changes. Variable attack and release times can themselves be pedal-controlled, allowing you to adjust compression character on the fly.
The LFO/tremolo section offers multiple waveforms with envelope and pedal-controlled speed variation, plus MIDI-clock sync for rhythmic precision locked to drum machines or backing tracks. A unique Duo mode provides two simultaneous LFOs for complex modulation patterns that would require multiple pedals to achieve conventionally. The volume section provides an impressive 100dB of cut and 40dB of boost range, far exceeding typical volume pedals and enabling the Voluum to function as a powerful clean boost or even a line driver.
Sonuus's patented InfiniQ pedal sensor is the technological heart of the Voluum's control system. Unlike traditional potentiometers that eventually wear out and become scratchy, or optical sensors affected by dirt and stage lighting, the InfiniQ provides fast, super-fine precision control guaranteed never to wear out or degrade. The Voluum also features the world's first built-in precision chromatic tuner in a volume pedal, choice of transparent true-bypass or buffered bypass, silent-switching custom circuitry, and 100 user presets plus expertly-crafted factory presets. Multiple power options including 9VDC, USB, or 4xAA batteries provide flexibility for different rigs.
