The Silver Spurs delivers variable analog distortion with extensive tone-shaping via eight primary controls: Gain, Damping (high-pass filter for tight low-end), Headroom (clipping threshold adjustment), Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Presence. This comprehensive control set provides professional-grade tonal flexibility beyond standard distortion pedals limited to gain/tone/volume. Works with tube amplifiers or any amp type, designed to integrate seamlessly into existing signal chains.

Damping and Headroom controls represent Thorn SoundLabs' signature approach: Damping removes excess low-end from distorted signal maintaining focus (critical when stacking gain stages or using humbuckers), Headroom adjusts when clipping occurs allowing precise control over saturation feel. Completely analog circuit maintains touch sensitivity and harmonic response. Input impedance 470kΩ, output impedance 2.2Ω, hardwired true bypass.
