SH9
Scott Henderson signature distortion designed by Susumu Tamura, based on the SD-9 circuit with enhanced dynamics at 9V or 18V operation.
The TWA SH9 is a signature collaboration between fusion guitar legend Scott Henderson and Susumu Tamura, creator of the original Tube Screamer and SD-9. This pedal represents Mr. Tamura taking the basic SD-9 circuit architecture he invented in 1981 and reworking it to meet Henderson's exacting performance standards.
The SH9 is designed for versatile power options: running at 9V delivers the classic SD-9 character with natural compression, while 18V operation unlocks increased headroom and a slightly different distortion character with more dynamics and clarity.
The result is a professional-grade distortion pedal that captures the essence of the vintage SD-9 while adding the refinements and flexibility that modern players demand. It's particularly suited for fusion, jazz-rock, and players who need articulate distortion that responds to nuanced playing.
