The #24 Hard Distortion from Tokyo-based Umbrella Company is a boutique distortion pedal featuring unique sound-shaping controls. The Density switch allows toggling between concentrating the sound density in the high-mids or low-mids, giving control over frequency focus that affects how the distortion sits in a mix.
The X knob provides additional tonal adjustment, working in conjunction with the Density switch to dial in specific distortion characteristics. As with all Umbrella Company pedals, the #24 uses carefully selected discrete analog circuits and specific transistors to achieve its vintage-inspired tone, following the company's philosophy of recreating classic sounds through component selection.
Handmade in small batches in Tokyo, the pedal runs on 9V DC center-negative power in a compact enclosure.
