1987 Pro
Hot-rodded Plexi with 12 presets, MIDI, expression in, Tight switch—relay bypass, 120x95x53mm, 9V center-negative.
Volta Custom builds handcrafted professional guitar pedals in Italy, founded in 2012 by Salvatore Di Pietro as family business. The 1987 PRO recreates hot-rodded Marshall Plexi amplifier tones—referring to popular modifications technicians performed on vintage Plexi amps to increase distortion and saturation beyond stock specifications. Full analog signal path combines with digital logic and memory storing up to 12 presets for instant recall of different gain settings and tonal variations.
Tight switch with three positions tailors saturation to single coils or humbuckers, offering fat (vintage voicing for single coils), classic (standard Plexi response), or tight (focused for humbuckers) voicings. Expression input controls any parameter or morphs between channels in real-time. TRS MIDI input (MIDI version) enables preset changes and parameter control via MIDI controllers. Relay-based bypass maintains signal integrity when disengaged. Dual channels provide independent gain staging for rhythm and lead tones.
Dimensions 120x95x53mm (4.72"Wx3.74"Hx2.1"D), 9V DC center-negative power. The 1987 PRO targets players seeking Marshall Plexi character with modern preset storage and MIDI integration, suitable for classic rock, hard rock, and blues where Plexi-style crunch and lead tones drive the musical energy but multiple gain settings need instant access without manual knob adjustments between songs.
