V810 Valvetone
TS-style overdrive in the Vox lineup. Classic mid-humped breakup with true bypass switching.
The V810 Valvetone was introduced in 1998 as Vox's take on the classic Tube Screamer circuit. Volume, Tone, and Gain controls provide moderate gain range from subtle to medium overdrive while preserving dynamics.
The circuit uses a Texas Instruments RC4558P op-amp with 'millennium bypass' and stabilized power section. Unlike many budget Tube Screamer variants, the V810 features true bypass switching for signal purity when disengaged.
The die-cast aluminum case with chrome bezel and embossed diamond-pattern tread matches classic Vox aesthetics. 9V battery powered. Originally $120, the V810 was considered expensive but is now valued for its build quality and responsive, classic overdrive tone.
