XAct Tone Solutions builds professional guitar pedals in Nashville focused on improving classic designs. The Tejas Overdriver is their take on the classic Colorsound Overdriver used by Gilmour, Beck, and Bolan—it has all the capabilities of the Tejas Boost but adds overdrive and fuzz to the mix.
The Tejas Overdriver shares the exact same topology as the Tejas Boost, but the internal volume control has migrated to a full-fledged Volume knob on the outside. Use the Gain knob for as much boost, grit, or crunch as you like, then use Volume to maintain unity level or give yourself a level bump. The Bass and Treble controls let you add sparkle, cut tubby-ness, or modify your tone across their entire useful ranges.
Goes from chimey boost to uncompressed musical breakup. Max out the gain control and the well-behaved Tejas gives way to decidedly unruly distortion that ventures into fuzz characteristics. High-voltage orange drop capacitors throughout. True bypass switching, 3.7" x 4.7" x 2" enclosure. Draws less than 15mA from 9V DC center-negative power. Made in USA.
