Yellowcake Pedals, a hand-wired boutique builder based in the USA, designed the Furry Burrito to combine the best of overdrive and fuzz in a single, versatile pedal. Unlike typical dual-mode pedals, the Furry Burrito cascades its overdrive section into a fuzz circuit, allowing both to interact rather than simply switching between them.
The Drive control delivers clipping overdrive, while the Gain knob pushes into saturated Big Muff-style fuzz territory with singing sustain. The Clear Trim knob (cleverly integrated into the LED) voltage-starves the circuit to induce controlled feedback and signal breakup. A Fat switch adds bass frequencies, and the Filter control ranges from low and flat to sharp and bright. Unlike a typical Big Muff, the Furry Burrito maintains focus and avoids the aggressive midrange scoop.
The pedal excels at covering wide tonal ground: warm, touch-sensitive overdrive at lower settings, or thick, sustained fuzz leads when pushed. The cascading design means you're blending two gain stages simultaneously, creating unique textures impossible with single-circuit pedals. Hand-built with aluminum enclosures and UV printing, each unit draws 18mA from standard 9V power.
