Pathos

The Pathos is the flagship pedal from Tosin Abasi's Abasi Concepts brand, developed in collaboration with Brian Wampler. Designed to function as "several dirt boxes in one," it covers everything from a subtle push into an overdriven amp to scorching high-gain distortion with controlled sustain.

The cascading gain stages retain the feel of an American-style tube amp channel. At low gain settings, it delivers the pushed crunch of a tube amp on the edge of breakup; cranked up, it produces responsive, intricately voiced distortion. The sweet spot lies between noon and 4 o'clock on the gain control.

The Smooth/Edge toggle switch provides two distinct voicings, while the 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble) offers precise tone shaping. Tosin himself uses a pair of Pathos pedals with gain near zero as subtle boosts for enhanced lead tones. Built in the USA with high-grade components and soft-touch true bypass switching.
