Aion FX from Des Moines, IA has helped guitarists build studio-quality effects since 2011. They specialize in making ultra-rare circuits accessible to builders who could never afford the originals.

The Convex recreates the Dinosaural OTC-201 Opticompressor, an all-original optical compressor designed by Dan Coggins (Lovetone's chief engineer). Manufactured in tiny quantities from 2013-2016, originals command astronomical prices. Ed O'Brien of Radiohead was a notable user.

The circuit represents Coggins' expertise in optical compression topology, delivering transparent dynamics control with musical character. Unlike one-knob squashers, the OTC-201's comprehensive control set allows fine-tuning compression behavior while maintaining the organic response optical circuits are known for.
