Hexacomp C2M

The Akai Hexacomp C2M is a sophisticated multiband compressor that splits the input signal into six frequency bands, each with its own dedicated compressor circuit. This allows precise dynamic control across the frequency spectrum—you can tame boomy lows while adding sustain to highs, or create unique phase-like effects by varying compression ratios between bands.

Each band features independent compression ratio and mix level sliders, plus LED indicators showing compression activity. The analog circuit design maintains signal integrity while providing studio-grade dynamic control in a pedalboard-friendly format.

Originally designed for guitarists, the Hexacomp works equally well with bass, keyboards, and vintage electric pianos. The unique multiband architecture creates possibilities beyond traditional compression—varying ratios between bands produces subtle phase effects as the signals recombine, adding movement and dimension to your tone.
