Graviton
DIY PCB for building a Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal clone - the 1983 chainsaw distortion that defined Swedish death metal.
Aion FX from Des Moines, IA has helped guitarists build studio-quality effects since 2011. They make cult classic circuits accessible as originals become increasingly expensive and scarce.
The Graviton recreates the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal (1983-1991), also released as the DOD FX-56 American Metal (1984). The circuit's extreme mid-scooping and aggressive high-frequency content created the signature "chainsaw" guitar tone of Swedish death metal bands like Entombed and Dismember.
Originally considered a novelty, the HM-2 achieved legendary status decades after discontinuation. Vintage units now command premium prices. The circuit's parametric-style dual frequency controls allow sculpting the most extreme metal tones ever achieved in a pedal format. The Aion version captures this cult classic before it becomes completely unobtainable.
