Radian
DIY PCB for building a Dallas Rangemaster clone - the 1965 treble booster used by Brian May and Tony Iommi.
Aion FX from Des Moines, IA has helped guitarists build studio-quality effects since 2011. They modernize vintage designs that were never intended as foot pedals.
The Radian recreates the Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster (1965), originally produced by Dallas Musical Ltd. of London. The original was not a foot pedal but a freestanding unit that sat on top of the amplifier with a slide switch bypass, designed to add treble content to dark British amps like the Vox AC30.
Brian May, Tony Iommi, and Rory Gallagher made the Rangemaster essential to classic rock tone. The Aion version converts it to modern pedal format, adds voltage inverter for standard power adapters, and includes a Range toggle for selecting treble, mid, or full-range boost options - expanding the original's capabilities while maintaining its germanium character.
