Gnarly

The Basic Audio Gnarly combines aspects of the Maestro FZ-1 and Shin-Ei FY-2 into a silicon Tonebender-style fuzz. The Texture knob blends between gain stages, introducing octave-up harmonics at higher settings.

This hybrid approach creates a fuzz that's more versatile than either original, moving from thick sustain to searing octave tones. The silicon transistors provide consistent performance regardless of temperature.

Handmade in Philadelphia, the Gnarly showcases Basic Audio's creative circuit combinations.
