Zentara Overdrive
Klon Centaur clone renamed to Zentara. All-metal gold enclosure with 9V to 18V voltage boost.
The Behringer Zentara Overdrive is a clone of the legendary Klon Centaur, one of the most sought-after and expensive overdrive pedals ever made. Original Klons sell for thousands of dollars; the Behringer version costs just $69.
Unlike Behringer's typical plastic enclosures, the Zentara features an all-metal housing with a distinctive gold finish reminiscent of the original. It uses germanium soft-clipping diodes and can boost its internal voltage from 9V to 18V for increased headroom and harmonic richness.
Originally released as the 'Centaur' in 2024, it was renamed to 'Zentara' following legal challenges from Klon creator Bill Finnegan. The circuit and functionality remain identical—delivering the transparent, dynamic overdrive character that made the original Klon famous.
